Calendar : - The Imperial Calendar was established at the creation of the Third Imperium as a universal calendar reform. Dates count from the founding of the Imperium, the year-"zero". Dates before zero are negative, dates after are positive. For example, Terra discovered jump drive in -2431. The Imperium was founded in zero. Emperor Artemsus was crowned in 54. The year is divided into 365 standard days, which are grouped in 52 weeks of seven days each. The lengths of days and weeks is a legacy of Terran domination during the second Imperium. Days are numbered consecutively, beginning with one. The first day of the year is a holiday and is not part of any week. For example, the first day of the fiftieth year of the Imperium (holiday) is 001-50.
Callona : - The ISV Callona. A 200 displacement ton scout vessel currently being used by the players to explore the sector. Named after a type of small fast lizard from the Horih system.
Capital : - A word increasingly used in reference to the world of Sylea. Also the name of the subsector in which Sylea lies.
Combat Armour : - Combat Armour is the standard armour worn by the Imperial Marines and a couple of other military services. It is a complete Vacc-Suit array of metal and synthetic armour. Strictly military use only.
Core : - The name of the central sector of the Third Imperium, home to the Sylean system.
Coreward : - The galactic direction towards the galactic core.
Coyns : - The most common of the artifacts found at Ancients sites are small metal disks engraved with various symbols. No one knows what they are for, but their resemblence to the currencies of other cultures has earned the name coyns.
Crenarious : - The name of a large starship belonging to whomever owned the monastery on Heuen. Probably the same starship that nearly collided with the Callona on it's exit from Jumpspace in the Heuen system on 126-70. If it is the same craft it was approximately 1800 displacement tons. Some kind of armed cargo vessel. Probably lifted the ISV Yjonja from it's crash site on Heuen.
Cronar : - The ISV Cronar. A 200 displacement ton scout vessel currently attached to the Rimward Expedition Task Force.
Cruiser : - A ship capable of independant operations and of support of the main line of battle. Cruisers are intended to fulfil two diverse missions- in battle, they support and reinforce capital ships which are present and which form the main line of battle, generally from the flanks, and they perform seperate operations, often acting as the centre of task forces which have no capital ships. Cruisers are also put to use as independant ships.
